Your Safety DepartmentSM has developed an 8-hour standalone Trenching and Excavations Training module for Competent Persons.
(Length: 8 hours)
The attendee to the class will become familiar with OSHA requirements for working in trenches and excavations including general hazards of trenches and excavations, working around underground utilities, dangers with water accumulation, access and egress from trenches and excavations, vehicle and pedestrian exposure to trenches and excavations, soil testing, protective systems and rescue planning.
Trenching and Excavation Competent Person Training Syllabus
The attendee will be required to complete a written evaluation of the information presented during this training session as recommended by OSHA Regulations 29CFR1926.651.
WHO SHOULD TAKE THE COURSE:
This course is designed for personnel who are exposed to trenching and excavations where shoring, shielding, sloping or benching is required to prevent cave-ins and other hazards that may be present in the trench or excavation.
